Under 19 National Team

USRowing's Under 19 National Team represents the U.S. at the World Rowing Junior Championships each year. Under 19 (U19) is defined as athletes born in 2006 or later.

USRowing is committed to fair play. All athletes participating in selection for, and competing as a member of, all U.S. national rowing teams must be in compliance with United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA), International Olympic Committee (IOC), United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee (USOPC), World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), World Rowing and USRowing rules and requirements relating to banned substances, including but not limited to undergoing testing and obtaining and maintaining current therapeutic use exemptions as needed. Failure to adhere to anti-doping rules and requirements may result in an athlete losing eligibility to compete for the United States.

Continued skill development in conjunction with performance based training and racing for athletes that are already high performers.

Selection Development Camp (SDC) is the bridge between development and U19 Selection Camp. The top 44 athletes of each gender who were not invited to selection camp this year will be invited to this camp to further prepare them for the following year. The general 2k expectation for male rowers is sub 6:20-6:35 and sub 7:20-7:35 for female rowers.

Coxswain Note: SDC offers dedicated time to coxswain development. SDC is an opportunity for top coxswains to continue their development towards the Under 19 National Team and beyond.

The focus is skill acquisition and development for individuals in early stages of their rowing journey.

Youth Development Camp (YDC) is intended for athletes born in 2008-2010, with flexibility for those who may have started rowing later. Athletes must have previous rowing experience. The general 2k expectation for female rowers is 7:35 and above. The general 2K expectation for male rowers is 6:35 and above.

**NOTE Campers will be grouped by experience and ability to ensure that each athlete is being challenged appropriately. Seasoned rowers will have a camp curriculum that is more physically challenging and competitive while the less experienced athletes will focus on skill development that is appropriate for their ability.

Coxswain Note: YDC has a full coxswain curriculum led by a dedicated coxswain coach.
