Compliance
 
In order to be a member (athlete, coach, or staff) of any US National Team, Training Center, or Selection Camp there are some prerequisites that need to be completed. We have created this page to clarify what is required for individuals.
 
Athlete Compliance
 
Any athlete wishing to compete on ANY U.S. team, be a member of a training center, or be part of a selection camp must have:
  • A valid ECG & Cardiovascular Physical Exam (For athletes under the age of 23 ECGs must be no older than 3 years, for athletes 23 and older ECGs must be no older than 5 years). There are deadlines for submitting an ECG based on which event/camp which can be found on the ECG information page.
  • A valid United States Passport. Your passport should be valid for at least six months after the end of the event you are hoping to compete in.
  • Have a valid USRowing Membership (Champion or Basic + Regatta Package)
  • Anti-Doping Acknowledgement
  • Have annual SafeSport training and certification – Information will be sent to you upon winning trials or being invited to a training center or selection camp.
  • Bi- Annual Background check if you are 18 years of age or old - Information will be sent to you upon winning trials or being invited to a training center or selection camp.
 
We also require that all athletes competing in a trial or national selection regatta must have an annual physical but you do not need to submit this information but you do need to acknowledge that you have had one when registering for the regatta.

Coach Compliance

Any coach wishing to participate with ANY U.S. team must have:
  • Have annual SafeSport training and certification – Information will be sent to you upon winning trials or being invited to a training center or selection camp.
  • Bi- Annual Background check if you are 18 years of age or old - Information will be sent to you upon winning trials or being invited to a training center or selection camp.
  • Must have USRowing Level II Coaching certification.
